Jesus, the Savior of the World: What does he save us from?

"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” Matt. 1:21
They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.” John 4:42
"For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." John 3:17
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
"For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. Luke 9:24

...he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, Titus 3:5
